Case studies
HIV/AIDS epidemic has caused and continues to cause a growing number of children who have lost parents to AIDS. Whether they are affected or infected with HIV/AIDS, their lives will never be the same again. A shift in our attention and efforts can help them and provide a better future.
It has been recommended that all priorities begin at a local level in each country. A framework for dealing with orphans and vulnerable children is already in place but there is no agreed or acceptable tool to prioritise children’s needs. This makes a co-ordinated approach more difficult.
These case studies demonstrate how the Haven toolkit can offer objective prioritisation.
